Job Summary:
Registered Nurse (RN) - Medical Surgical with Telemetry in North Carolina. This position involves providing patient care in a 27-bed medical-surgical unit with telemetry capabilities. The role requires delivering high-quality nursing services to diverse patient populations, including those with stroke, COPD, chest pain, altered mental status, and GI bleed, with responsibilities aligned to the clinical demands of a busy acute care environment.
Job Details:
- Schedule: Night shifts, 12 hours per shift, minimum of 36 hours per week.
- Required Qualifications: Valid nursing license, BLS (Basic Life Support), ACLS (Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support), NIHSS (National Institute of Health Stroke Scale) certification, 18 months of medical-surgical and telemetry experience, and educational background consistent with RN licensure.
- Preferred Qualifications: Experience with stroke assessments, chest tube management, PIV starts, trach care, cardiac rhythm interpretation, NGT placement, drain/tube management (Dobhoff, PEG tubes, Hemovac, JP drains, flexiseals, foley insertion/management), PCA pump medication management.
- Additional Information: The RN may float within the region to other facilities as needed, with potential mid-shift travel compensation. Orientation will be conducted over two days, and scrubs are navy blue. The unit fosters a positive, team-driven culture, with free parking available. The environment includes modern technology such as EPIC electronic medical records, Alaris IV pumps, Omnicell medication dispensing, and Philips monitors. Support staff including CNAs and phlebotomists are available to assist.
