Job Details Specialty: Medical Surgical / Neurology / Stroke Care Employment Type: Travel Registered Nurse Setting: On-site acute care Med/Surg unit Shift: Nights, 3x12-hour shifts Shift Duration: 12 hours Weekly Hours: 36 Duration: 13 weeks Start Date: 10/20/2026 Weekly Estimated Pay: $1,570 - $1,650 Charting System: Epic Patient Ratio: 1:6 Patient Population: Adults and geriatrics Job Requirements Active Registered Nurse (RN) license required at time of submission Minimum of 2 years of recent Med/Surg nursing experience preferred/required for this role Previous travel nurse experience preferred Current BLS certification required Current NIHSS certification required Experience with Epic charting required Strong medical-surgical nursing skills and comfort caring for neurological and post-surgical patients Ability to manage a 1:6 patient ratio in a fast-paced acute care environment Must be willing to work night shift travel nursing assignments Responsibilities Provide high-quality nursing care for Medical Surgical patients with neurological and stroke-related diagnoses Monitor patients using telemetry and pulse oximetry to recognize changes in condition early Perform thorough neurological assessments and support stroke recovery care Administer medications, IV therapies, and ordered treatments safely and accurately Collaborate with interdisciplinary team members to deliver patient-centered acute care Support patients with seizure disorders, TBI, TIA, hemorrhagic and ischemic stroke, and select medical/surgical needs Document care in Epic and maintain clear, timely communication with the healthcare team Promote secondary stroke prevention, patient education, and optimal functional outcomes Apply now for this exciting Travel RN opportunity in Tyler, Texas, and join a healthcare team dedicated to exceptional Med/Surg and stroke care.
