Job Requirements

• Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in hand at time of submission
• Minimum of 1 year of Med/Surg nursing experience required; 2 years preferred
• Travel nurse experience preferred
• Current BLS and NIHSS certifications required
• Experience using Epic charting system required
• Ability to manage a 1:6 patient ratio in a busy medical-surgical setting
• Strong assessment and critical thinking skills for adult and geriatric patient care
• Comfort working in a telemetry-supported unit

Responsibilities

• Provide safe, compassionate care to medical-surgical patients with a focus on neurological and stroke-related conditions
• Perform comprehensive nursing assessments and monitor changes in patient condition
• Administer medications and treatments according to nursing standards and provider orders
• Monitor telemetry and pulse oximetry for early recognition of changes in patient status
• Support patients recovering from stroke, seizure disorders, traumatic brain injury, and related diagnoses
• Collaborate with physicians and interdisciplinary healthcare team members to promote positive patient outcomes
• Document accurately and efficiently in Epic EMR
• Promote patient safety, mobility, education, and discharge readiness throughout the care process
