Overview

We are seeking an experienced Registered Nurse for a night-shift Med/Surg Tele travel assignment in Maryville, Tennessee. This medical-surgical telemetry unit cares for higher-acuity patients, including stroke, TIA, and other complex conditions. The role is ideal for a collaborative RN who has strong clinical judgment, enjoys working in a team-based environment, and is comfortable floating as needed within their skill set.

• Setting: Inpatient medical-surgical telemetry unit
• Shift: Night shift, 12-hour shifts (18:45 - 07:15)
• Schedule: 3x12-hour shifts per week
• Weekly Hours: 36 hours
• Weekend Coverage: Every other weekend
• Contract Length: 13 weeks
• Orientation: 24 hours
• Estimated Weekly Pay: $1,680 - $1,770
• Patient Ratios: 1:6 on nights
• Charting System: Epic experience preferred

Job Requirements

• Active Tennessee RN license required
• Minimum of 1 year of recent Med/Surg Tele or similar acute care nursing experience
• At least 1 year of Epic EMR experience required
• Previous charge nurse experience required
• Current ACLS, BLS, and NIHSS certifications required
• Prior travel nursing experience required
• Must be comfortable floating to other qualified units as needed
• Strong clinical background caring for adult and geriatric patients
• No first-time travelers

Responsibilities

• Provide safe, high-quality registered nurse care to adult and geriatric patients in a Med/Surg Telemetry setting
• Care for patients with stroke/TIA, seizure, syncope, pneumonia, chest pain, CHF, sepsis, respiratory failure, and other complex medical-surgical conditions
• Monitor telemetry, assess changes in patient status, and respond appropriately to clinical needs
• Administer medications and therapies in accordance with established nursing standards and unit protocols
• Support specialized interventions such as peritoneal dialysis and continuous bladder irrigation when indicated
• Collaborate with physicians, charge nurses, and interdisciplinary healthcare teams to promote excellent patient outcomes
• Float to other units within your scope and skill set when needed to support patient care and census demands
• Maintain accurate documentation in Epic and follow safety, communication, and care coordination protocols
