Travel Nursing Job Details
- Weekly Estimated Pay: $2,020–$2,130
- Assignment Type: 13-week travel nursing contract
- Location: Appleton, Wisconsin
- Start Date: October 26, 2026
- Schedule: 36 hours per week
- Shift: 12-hour nights, approximately 5:30 PM–6:00 AM
- Weekend Requirement: Up to every other weekend; candidates open to every weekend may be considered
- Holiday Requirement: Holiday rotation as needed
- Call Requirement: None
- Orientation: Eight hours
- Floating: Float across medical-surgical units and nearby clinical locations according to staffing needs; placement may change with advance notice
- Patient Assignment: Approximately 1:5–6, with support from LPN or CNA staff based on acuity

Medical-Surgical RN Job Requirements
- Active Wisconsin Registered Nurse license
- At least 3 years of RN experience, including at least 2 years of recent Medical-Surgical nursing experience
- Previous travel nursing experience required; at least one completed travel contract strongly preferred
- American Heart Association BLS certification
- NIHSS certification
- American Heart Association ACLS certification preferred
- Recent Epic charting experience within the past year
- Associate degree or nursing certificate required; Bachelor of Science in Nursing preferred
- Ability to work independently, manage change effectively, and float between units and locations
- Must provide care within demonstrated clinical competencies and skill set
Medical-Surgical Registered Nurse Responsibilities
- Provide safe, evidence-based nursing care to adult medical-surgical patients across multiple inpatient units
- Care for patients with medical-surgical, general surgical, oncology, renal, cardiac, neurological, orthopedic, trauma, and complex medical conditions
- Monitor and care for patients experiencing conditions such as CHF, COPD, stroke, DKA, CIWA-related needs, and post-procedural recovery
- Support patients before and after cardiac catheterization, pacemaker procedures, and other surgical or diagnostic interventions
- Recognize changes in patient condition, prioritize interventions, and escalate concerns promptly
- Administer medications, complete assessments, manage care plans, and accurately document in Epic
- Collaborate with providers, LPNs, CNAs, therapy teams, and other members of the interdisciplinary care team
- Adapt quickly to changing assignments and staffing needs while maintaining high standards of patient care
- Participate in weekend and holiday coverage according to the assignment schedule
