Description

American Traveler is hiring a Med/Surg RN for a 13-week day shift assignment requiring at least 1 year of inpatient med/surg experience and a TX or compact RN license

Details

• Medical Surgical unit within a hospital setting
• Day shift schedule, 4x12-hour shifts from 7:00 AM to 7:30 PM
• 36 or 48 hour scheduling options available
• Patient ratio of 1:6
• Weekend shifts required
• Float to units of equal or lesser acuity
• Epic charting system experience preferred

Requirements

• Active TX or compact RN license required in hand at time of consideration
• BLS certification required
• Minimum 1 year of previous charge nurse experience required
• At least 1 year of inpatient med/surg experience required
• Experience with 1:6 patient ratios
• Skilled in isolation precautions and PPE use
• Skilled in respiratory care including nasal cannula and non-invasive airway management
• Skilled in IV therapy, phlebotomy, and peripheral line care/management

Additional Information

• Provide direct patient care within a med/surg unit including respiratory support and IV therapy management
• Must complete core onboarding items and labs within 48 hours of contract signing
• Onsite orientation modules required, averaging 4-6 hours for RNs
• First time travelers are welcome to apply
• No travel pairs or groups accepted
• Candidates must reside more than 50 miles from the facility, local candidates not accepted
• Former permanent staff must have been separated from the facility for at least 1 year before returning as a traveler
• All requested RTO must be submitted for consideration in advance
• No more than 3 days of RTO will be auto-approved, and no RTO permitted during the first week of orientation
