Description

American Traveler is seeking a Med/Surg RN with at least 1 year of inpatient experience and Epic charting proficiency for a 13-week assignment.

Details

  • Medical Surgical unit with telemetry monitored via a centralized station
  • Day shift, 4x12 hour schedule (7:00-19:30), with 36 or 48 hour options
  • Patient ratio of 1:6
  • Free floating charge nurse and house discharge nurse floats across all departments
  • Float required to units of equal or lesser acuity
  • Uses Epic charting system

Requirements

  • Active TX or Compact RN license required in hand at time of consideration
  • Current BLS certification
  • Minimum 1 year of inpatient Med/Surg experience required
  • Recent Epic charting experience within the last 6 months preferred
  • Skilled in cardiac monitoring, dysrhythmia interpretation and management, and emergency response
  • Experience with isolation precautions/PPE, IV therapy/phlebotomy, peripheral line care, and nasal cannula respiratory support

Additional Information

  • Care for a Med/Surg patient population requiring telemetry monitoring
  • First-time travelers are accepted for this position
  • Must reside more than 50 miles from the facility to be considered; local candidates not accepted
  • Former staff must have been separated from the facility for at least 1 year before returning as a traveler
  • No more than 3 days of RTO auto-approved, and no RTO permitted during the first week of orientation
  • Travel pairs or groups are not accepted for this assignment
