Job Summary
Medical Surgical Registered Nurse (RN) Urology/Nephrology generally in an acute care hospital setting. This role involves providing specialized nursing care for patients with urological and nephrological conditions, including kidney transplants, Kidney Stones, and other complex urology procedures, on a 12-hour day shift schedule.

Job Details

  • Certifications: BLS, active Illinois RN license required.
  • Education Requirements: Valid IL RN licensure.
  • Location Requirements: Must hold an active Illinois RN license prior to application.
  • Years of Experience: Minimum 2 years of experience in medical-surgical nursing; 0 years of experience required beyond that.
  • Schedule: Day shift, 12 hours, with a minimum of 36 hours per week.
  • Additional Qualifications: Experience with telemetry, cardiac monitoring, emergency response, genitourinary/renal case skills (pre/post hemodialysis management, renal failure), IV therapy/phlebotomy (blood product administration, PICC line management, starting IVs), respiratory care (chest tubes, CPAP/BiPAP, HFNC), and proficiency in infection precautions, wound care, and Wound Vac. Cerner charting system experience required.
  • Responsibilities: Provide comprehensive care for adult patients on a busy medical-surgical unit with a focus on urology/nephrology issues, kidney transplant care, and general medical-surgical diagnoses. May be required to float within scope to other units to meet operational needs.
