Join a leading acute-care hospital as a Medical Surgical Registered Nurse (RN) specializing in Med Surg in Wilmington, NC. This is an exciting opportunity for experienced nurses seeking a contract position in a dynamic healthcare environment.

Job Details:

  • Unit Type: Neuro Unit
  • Minimum Years of Experience: 2 years
  • Traveler Experience: Unit WILL ACCEPT 1st time Travelers
  • Local Candidates: Accepted / Rate Difference: Yes
  • Ratios: 1:6
  • Float Requirement: Yes, travelers float first
  • Weekend Requirement: 5-6 weekend shifts (equates to every other weekend)
  • Contract staff: Will be assigned and expected to work a Storm Team and/or Hurricane Team. May be required to report to work during catastrophic events, mass casualties, or disasters.
  • Patient Diagnoses: General medicine, focus on neuro
  • Unit Systems: Pyxis, EPIC, SBAR
  • Scheduling Type: Manager Schedules
  • Unit Orientation: 24 Hours
  • Scrubs: Not Provided. Navy Blue

Required Skills / Certifications / Experience:

  • ACLS and BLS certifications
  • Teamwork approach to patient care
  • Focus on patient safety

Preferred Skills / Certifications / Experience:

  • NIH certification
  • Neuro experience preferred
  • Experience/willingness to learn the charge nurse role preferred

Must pass EKG Testing prior to start for this specialty. RTO after booking is not allowed and cannot be worked out onsite. Any call-offs or additional RTO on the unit could possibly turn into a cancel and DNR.
