GLC On-The-Go is seeking a travel nurse RN Med Surg for a travel nursing job in Wilmington, North Carolina.
SURGICAL SHORT STAY RN: Surgical Short Stay is a 12-bed unit that cares for adult surgical patients. Most of the patients are admitted from PACU and stay less than 24 hours, but we also care for pre-op patients and inpatient surgical admissions when needed. The nurse-to-patient ratio is 1:6.
JOB DETAILS: Shift: 3x12 1900-0700. Float required as needed - May float to inpatient surgery floors, inpatient holding areas, or potentially medical floors. Every other weekend required (12 weekend night shifts (Fri, Sat, or Sun) per contract). Ratio: 1:6. Contract staff will be assigned and expected to work a Storm Team and/or Hurricane Team. Contract staff may be required to report to work during a catastrophic event, mass casualty or disaster. Consolidation to the Centralized Office mid-contract may occur and the contract staff may be preassigned to units as needed.
EXPERIENCE/CERTS: ACLS & BLS required. 2 years of Med Surg experience required. Short stay experience required. First-time travelers accepted. Charge experience preferred. EPIC experience preferred.
PATIENT DIAGNOSES: Patients represent a range of functional statuses and surgical conditions across multiple service lines, including, but not limited to, colorectal, endoscopic, general, gynecologic (GYN), maxillofacial, neurologic, orthopedic, plastic, urologic, and vascular.
SPECIAL EQUIPMENT: Including, but not limited to, CBI, Doppler ultrasound, BD Alaris Infusion System with Large Volume Pump Module and PCA Module, JP drains, Medela Wound Vac System, Prevena Wound Vac System.
IMPORTANT NOTES: Must pass EKG Testing prior to start for this specialty. HARDSTOP - 2 years of experience; 7 days MAX RTO per contract; Must be able to work holidays; No block schedules unless a weekend block.
