Key Responsibilities

• Provide direct patient care on a high-acuity Medical/Surgical floor serving surgical, trauma, and complex patient populations including gunshot wounds, quadriplegic, and paraplegic patients
• Maintain a patient ratio of 5:1, delivering safe and effective nursing care across assigned caseload
• Collaborate with ED nurses and admitting staff to complete structured nurse handoffs upon patient admission
• Coordinate with unit support staff including nursing support techs, phlebotomists, and unit secretaries to ensure continuity of care
• Document all patient care activities accurately using EPIC electronic health records

Required Qualifications

• Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in good standing
• Minimum 2 years of experience in Medical/Surgical nursing
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required
• Proficiency with EPIC electronic health records system required
• Must be available to work assigned shifts; block scheduling is not available
• No time-off requests (RTO) can be accommodated during the contract period

Preferred Experience / Skills

• Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification preferred
• Prior experience with high-acuity surgical or trauma patient populations
• Experience caring for patients with spinal cord injuries or complex mobility limitations
