Job Opportunity – Registered Nurse, Medical Surgical – Tyler, TX 75701

Start Date: October 6, 2026

Location: Tyler, Texas

Schedule: Night shift, 3x12-hour shifts (19:00 - 07:00), 1:6 patient ratio. Weekend coverage required for approximately half of the contract duration.

Highlights:

• 19-bed private room medical-surgical unit specializing in neurological and stroke-related care
• Patient population includes acute ischemic and hemorrhagic stroke, TIA, seizure disorders, traumatic brain injury, and neurosurgical patients
• Unit equipped with continuous telemetry and pulse oximetry monitoring for comprehensive patient assessment
• Comprehensive interdisciplinary support including physical therapy, respiratory services, pharmacy, rapid response teams, and more
• Epic charting system with 16-hour orientation provided
• 91-day travel assignment with opportunity to provide evidence-based, patient-centered neurological care

Requirements:

• Active RN license (state or compact license must be in hand at time of application)
• Minimum 2 years of nursing experience required
• Previous travel nursing experience preferred
• BLS and NIHSS certifications required
• Epic charting system experience required
• Experience with 1:6 patient ratios
• Proficiency in medical-surgical and telemetry nursing skills including blood product administration, IV management, telemetry monitoring, chest tube care, stroke care, and pre/post neurosurgery care
• Must complete core compliance items and labs within 48 hours of contract signing
• Geographic restrictions apply; candidates residing in certain local counties are not eligible
