Job Opportunity – Registered Nurse, Orthopedic Medical/Surgical – Tyler, TX 75701

Start Date: October 6, 2026

Location: Tyler, Texas

Schedule: Night shift, 3x12-hour shifts (7:00 PM - 7:00 AM). Patient ratio 1:6. Weekend coverage required for half of scheduled shifts. Float required. 36-bed unit.

Highlights:

• Orthopedic Medical/Surgical unit with 36 beds specializing in ortho trauma and total joint replacement care
• Epic charting system with comprehensive interdisciplinary support including Physical Therapy, Respiratory Services, Pharmacy, and Rapid Response Teams
• Patient population includes adolescents, adults, and geriatrics with diverse diagnoses including spinal cord injury, traumatic brain injury, and CVA
• 91-day assignment with orientation provided
• Collaborative environment with access to interpretation services, radiology, social services, and phlebotomy support

Requirements:

• Active Registered Nurse license (state or compact license required at time of submission)
• Minimum 2 years of nursing experience required
• Travel nursing experience preferred; Trauma Level I or II experience preferred
• Required certifications: BLS; ACLS and NIHSS preferred
• Epic charting system experience required
• Experience with patient ratio of 1:6 and float assignments
• Must complete core items and labs within 48 hours of contract signing
• Geographic restriction: Candidates residing in Henderson, Anderson, Cherokee, Rusk, Panola, Smith, Gregg, Van Zandt, Wood, Upshur, Camp, Hopkins, Franklin, Titus, and Morris counties are not eligible
