Description

American Traveler is hiring an RN for a Med/Surg-Tele position at a Level I Trauma Center requiring recent trauma and travel experience.

Details

• Work in the MS/Tele unit of a Level I Trauma Center, short-term acute care hospital
• Med/Surg patient population with telemetry monitoring needs
• Team nursing model with a 1:7 ratio, supported by PCC and RN staff
• Night shift schedule, 4x12 hour shifts from 19:00-7:00
• 13-week assignment length
• On-call required as needed
• Weekend coverage required as needed, with possible weekend block scheduling
• Floating may occur between like units and campuses within a 20-mile radius

Requirements

• Active RN license in the state or compact RN license (TN or compact required, NLC compliant, no pending licensure accepted)
• Minimum 2 years of recent experience in Med/Surg-Tele specialty required, 3+ years preferred
• BLS certification required; ACLS and NIHSS certifications preferred
• Level I Trauma Center experience required
• Large hospital experience required
• Prior travel nursing experience required (at least 1 completed assignment)
• ADN accepted for this position
• Epic and Cerner charting system experience preferred
• Skilled in IV therapy/phlebotomy and starting/maintaining IVs
• Driver's license copy required for consideration

Additional Information

• Provide direct patient care within a Med/Surg-Tele unit, supported by a team nursing approach
• Must reside at least 100 miles from the facility to be eligible, as this is a strict radius requirement with no exceptions for local candidates
• If Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Year's all fall within the assignment, must be willing to work 2 of the 3 holidays; if only 2 of these holidays fall within the assignment, must work at least 1
• First-time travelers will not be considered; candidates must have completed at least one prior travel assignment
• Former permanent staff or travelers must be separated from the facility for at least 1 year before returning as a traveler
• All requested time off (RTO) must be submitted at the time of application, as RTO requested after an offer is made will not be honored
