Travel Nursing Job Details

• Weekly Estimated Pay: $1,790–$1,880
• Schedule: 3 shifts per week, 36 hours per week
• Shift Duration: 12-hour night shifts, 7:00 p.m. to 7:00 a.m.
• Weekend Requirement: Every other weekend, including Friday and Saturday nights
• Patient Population: Adult and geriatric patients
• Typical Assignment: Approximately 1:4 nurse-to-patient ratio
• Charting: Electronic medical record experience required
• Float Expectations: May float within Medical-Surgical units or to nearby affiliated units based on patient-care needs
• Call: Not required
• Parking: Free parking available
• Additional Requirement: Reliable personal transportation is required

Medical-Surgical RN Job Requirements

• Active Registered Nurse license eligible for practice in Oregon; compact license must be in hand when applicable
• At least 1 year of recent Medical-Surgical RN experience in an acute-care setting
• Current Basic Life Support certification
• Recent experience caring for adult and geriatric patients
• Experience using electronic health records and electronic medical records
• Demonstrated ability to safely manage a patient assignment of approximately four patients
• Ability to work independently, collaborate with interdisciplinary teams, and adapt to floating assignments
• Willingness to work required weekends and assigned holidays

Medical-Surgical Registered Nurse Responsibilities

• Provide comprehensive nursing care to adult and geriatric Medical-Surgical patients during 12-hour night shifts
• Assess patient conditions, develop and update nursing care plans, administer medications, and evaluate treatment responses
• Manage peripheral and central lines, PICC lines, IV therapies, blood products, insulin protocols, and heparin therapies
• Care for patients requiring oxygen therapy, high-flow nasal cannula, non-invasive airway support, telemetry monitoring, wound care, wound vacs, surgical drains, chest tubes, and tracheostomy management
• Support patients with bowel obstructions, renal failure, CVA, substance withdrawal, feeding tubes, ostomies, and continuous bladder irrigation
• Recognize changes in patient status and promptly activate rapid response or code resources when appropriate
• Provide patient and family education, promote safety and infection prevention, and document care accurately in the electronic medical record
• Communicate effectively with physicians, respiratory therapy, pharmacy, rehabilitation services, IV teams, social services, and other members of the healthcare team
• Float to other appropriate Medical-Surgical units or nearby affiliated locations as needed to support patient-care operations
