Description

American Traveler is hiring an experienced ICU RN with TX or compact licensure for a Medical-Surgical ICU position requiring critical care skills and travel experience.

• Medical-Surgical ICU setting
• Day shift, 4x12-hour shifts from 7:00 to 19:00
• 36 or 48 hour weekly options available
• Patient ratios of 1:2 to 1:3
• Epic charting system used

Requirements

• Active TX or compact RN license required in hand at time of consideration
• Current certifications: BLS and ACLS required; NIHSS and PALS preferred
• Minimum 2 years of ICU experience preferred
• Prior travel nursing experience required
• Epic charting experience required
• Previous charge nurse experience preferred
• Teaching hospital, community hospital, LTAC, and Trauma Level I/II experience preferred
• Strong critical care skill set including ventilator management, arterial line management, central/PICC line care, titration of cardiac and vasoactive drips, and CRRT/CVVHD
• Experience with ABG interpretation, dysrhythmia management, and care of patients with multisystem organ dysfunction

Additional Information

• Care for medical-surgical ICU patients requiring advanced critical care interventions
• May be assigned to Neuro ICU or Surgical ICU work settings
• Candidates residing in Henderson, Anderson, Cherokee, Rusk, Panola, Smith, Gregg, Van Zandt, Wood, Upshur, Camp, Hopkins, Franklin, Titus, or Morris counties are not eligible for consideration
• Local candidates within 50 miles of the facility are not accepted
• Former staff must wait one year before returning as a travel employee
• All requested time off must be submitted at time of consideration
• No RTO permitted during the first week of orientation, and no more than 3 days of RTO will be auto-approved
• Travel pairs or groups are not accepted
• First-time travelers will not be considered for this position
• Orientation includes completion of onboarding modules, averaging 4-6 hours for RNs, completed onsite
