ICU Registered Nurse (RN)

Position Overview

We are seeking a dedicated and experienced ICU Registered Nurse to join our fast-paced Medical ICU unit, which comprises 30 beds. This unit primarily cares for patients with critical conditions including, but not limited to, sepsis, heart failure, hypertensive emergencies, respiratory failure, chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD), chronic kidney disease, Type 2 diabetes mellitus, and various substance use disorders.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide comprehensive care to critically ill patients, ensuring patient safety and comfort.
  • Utilize advanced medical equipment, including ventilators, to support patient respiratory and cardiovascular needs.
  • Administer medications and treatments as prescribed, while monitoring patient responses and adjusting as necessary.
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to develop and implement individualized patient care plans.
  • Maintain accurate and thorough patient documentation.
  • Participate in quality improvement initiatives aimed at enhancing patient care and outcomes.
  • Serve as an advocate for patients and their families to ensure effective communication and understanding of care processes.

Qualifications

  • Valid nursing license and certification as a Registered Nurse (RN).
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in an ICU or critical care setting.
  • Current certifications in Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) and Basic Life Support (BLS).
  • Proficient in the use of ventilators and other ICU equipment.
  • Strong clinical assessment skills and the ability to make timely, informed decisions.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to effectively interact with patients, families, and team members.
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment.
