Description:
The Medical Assistant will manage customer flow throughout the clinic.
Assist providers in the management and treatment of customers.
Customers come from a variety of backgrounds and age groups requiring individualized care.
The focus of the Medical Assistant is on collaborative, supportive, and delegated tasks as described in the Medical Assistant scope of practice.
Delegable tasks and competencies are specific to the role of the Supervising Nurse and Supervising Provider.
The Medical Assistant will receive direction and collaborate with the Clinic Supervisor, Clinic Manager, and Providers.
Communicating with the healthcare team about progress, concerns, and any arising questions or problems is essential.
The Medical Assistant will perform clinical and clerical tasks to assist with the management of customer flow throughout the clinic.
Tasks include standard rooming processes, giving immunizations, injections, and other medications as directed by the provider.
Perform laboratory specimen collection as needed.
Facilitate communication between customers and providers.
Assist with prescription refills and perform phlebotomy duties.
Provide front desk/check-in support, order and stock supplies, and assist with prior authorizations.
The schedule is subject to change based on operational needs.
Weekends may be required by department rotation.
