Description

American Traveler is hiring an RN for a Med/Surg Tele position requiring 2 years of recent acute care experience and a WI or compact RN license.

Details

• Med/Surg Tele unit in an acute care hospital setting
• Night shift, 3x12-hour shifts from 19:00-07:30
• Weekend and holiday rotations based on operational need
• Floating required as needed
• Epic EMR experience required

Requirements

• Active WI RN or compact RN license required
• BLS certification required (AHA only)
• Minimum 2 years of acute care experience within the last 3 years in med/surg specialty required
• Must pass a telemetry exam with strict passing criteria prior to starting, including 100% identification of lethal rhythms
• Experience with IV therapy, central line and PICC line management, and peripheral line care
• Skilled in respiratory care including oxygen administration, tracheostomy care, and nasal cannula use
• Experience administering medications such as Heparin, Insulin, and PCA
• Proficient in cardiac monitoring, dysrhythmia interpretation, and telemetry unit monitoring
• Experience with wound care and isolation precautions/PPE

Additional Information

• Provide direct patient care on a Med/Surg Tele unit including cardiac monitoring and emergency response
• Must reside at least 50 miles from the facility; local candidates not accepted
• Candidates must submit to a telemetry exam before clearance to start, with up to two attempts allowed
• First-time travelers with 3 years of recent inpatient med/surg experience will be considered
• Teaching hospital and community hospital experience preferred
• Free onsite parking available
