Registered Nurse Job Requirements
- Active RN license
- Minimum 2 years of Registered Nurse experience in an acute care or ICU setting
- Previous travel nurse experience required
- Current BLS, ACLS, and NIH certification
- Strong clinical background caring for adult and geriatric patients
- Experience with high-acuity diagnoses and treatments preferred, including STEMI, NSTEMI, sepsis, COPD exacerbation, CABG, valve repair/replacement, stroke, trauma, and respiratory failure
- Comfortable floating as needed to Intermediate Care and ED holding for admitted patients
- Ability to work independently in a 16-bed unit with a 1:2 patient ratio
Acute Care Nursing Responsibilities
- Deliver safe, compassionate, and evidence-based nursing care to critically ill patients
- Monitor patient status, assess changes quickly, and collaborate with the interdisciplinary care team on treatment plans
- Manage complex cardiac, respiratory, neurological, and post-surgical cases in a CVICU setting
- Administer medications and therapies using Baxter pumps and maintain accurate documentation in Medhost
- Support patients experiencing urgent and life-threatening conditions with professionalism and confidence
- Assist with call requirements and float assignments as needed
- Promote a positive patient experience while maintaining high standards of clinical excellence
