Description

American Traveler is hiring an RN for a Med Surg/Telemetry position requiring active IL and IA RN licensure and at least one year of Med Surg, Post Op, or Stepdown experience.

Details

Surgical/Ortho Med Surg unit within a Level 1 trauma hospital setting
Caseload typically includes 5-7 patients per nurse
Day shift schedule, 12-hour shifts from 6:45 AM to 7:00 PM
Every other weekend required
No on-call requirements
May float within the same discipline across local campuses
EMR system used is Epic

Requirements

Active IL RN license required at time of consideration
IA RN license also required, or proof of application for IA single-state or compact license
Compact RN license accepted
Minimum 1 year of Med Surg, Post Op, or Stepdown experience required
Surgical or post-op surgical experience required
Current BLS (AHA) certification required
At least one completed travel contract preferred
Driver's license required for consideration
Current resume/work history required
Skills checklist completed within the past year required
One supervisory reference from within the past 2 years required at time of consideration

Additional Information

Function as part of an interdisciplinary care team providing professional nursing care and clinical management to Med Surg and Surgical/Ortho patients
Located in a Level 1 trauma center
Must reside outside a 50-mile radius of the facility for travel rate eligibility
Candidates employed by the facility within the past 12 months will not be considered
Required to work 2 of 3 major winter holidays (Christmas, New Year's, or Thanksgiving)
Limited to 1 day off request during the Thanksgiving and winter holiday blackout periods
