Description

American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for a Med/Surg Tele position requiring active NV RN licensure and prior travel nursing experience at a Level II Trauma Center in Reno.

Details

• Med/Surg Tele unit within a hospital setting at a Level II Trauma Center
• Adolescent, adult, and geriatric patient population
• 3x12 day shift schedule with 36 weekly guaranteed hours
• No call requirements
• Schedule may include weekends, holidays, and some call shifts
• Floating required up to competency level based on organizational needs
• One additional shift pickup required during the schedule period
• Uses EPIC EMR charting system

Requirements

• Active NV RN license required prior to start
• BLS and ACLS certifications required (AHA only)
• CPI certification required for Behavioral/Psych assignments
• Must pass telemetry competency exam including identification and measurement of telemetry rhythm strips
• Minimum 2 years of Med Surg/Tele experience required
• Minimum of one recent 13-week travel assignment within the past year required
• EPIC EMR training provided during orientation or candidates may test out

Additional Information

• Provide individualized nursing care across the full episode of patient care using the nursing process
• Coordinate care with other professionals and involve family/caregivers in assessment and planning as appropriate
• Located at the region's only Level II Trauma Center, treating over 80,000 ER and trauma patients annually
• Minimum of 2 major holidays required to be worked
• No blocked scheduling allowed
• RTO must be submitted with initial application and will not be added to the end of the contract
• Facility does not accept local candidates and requires residency outside a 60-mile radius
• Returning employees must have a 13-week break after completing a prior contract
• First-time travelers are not eligible due to required prior travel experience
• Facility may call off shifts without penalty for low census, up to 48 hours per 13-week contract
