Description

American Traveler is hiring a Med/Surg Tele RN for a night shift assignment requiring WI or compact RN license and 2 years of recent acute care experience.

Details

• MS/Tele unit within a hospital setting
• Night shift, 12-hour shifts (1900-0730), 3x per week
• Weekend and holiday rotations based on operational need
• Floating required as needed
• Uses Epic EMR
• Care includes IV therapy, port access, wound care, telemetry monitoring, and rapid response protocols

Requirements

• Active WI RN license or compact RN license required
• BLS certification required (AHA only)
• Minimum 2 years of acute care experience within the last 3 years in med/surg specialty
• Epic EMR experience required
• Must pass a telemetry exam with strict passing criteria prior to starting, including 100% identification of lethal rhythms and an 80% or higher overall score
• Skills in IV therapy, phlebotomy, central and peripheral line management, and PICC line care
• Experience with GI, respiratory, and genitourinary/renal care including tracheostomy, chest tube, and CBI management
• Experience administering high-alert medications such as heparin, insulin, and PCA
• Teaching hospital and community hospital experience preferred

Additional Information

• Provide direct patient care for medical-surgical and telemetry patients, including cardiac monitoring and dysrhythmia interpretation
• Support rapid response and code team activities as needed

• Must reside more than 50 miles from the facility; local candidates not accepted
• First-time travelers will be considered if they have 3 years of recent inpatient med/surg experience
