Description

American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for a Med/Surg Telemetry position requiring Med/Surg and Step-down experience, with possible floating throughout the hospital.

• Work in the 3rd Floor Overflow unit of a hospital setting
• Patient population includes a variety of Med/Surg and Step-down cases
• May be floated to any area of the hospital
• Day shift schedule, 12-hour shifts, 36 hours per week, 3 days per week

Requirements

• Active RN license (OK State Board or multistate compact eNLC) currently in hand
• Current BLS certification issued by the American Heart Association
• Minimum of 1 year of RN experience required
• Associate's Degree in Nursing from an accredited program required; BSN preferred
• Strong knowledge of nursing theory, practices, and techniques
• Good verbal and written communication skills
• Basic computer skills required
• Full date of birth and Social Security Number required for consideration

Additional Information

• Provide nursing care to an assigned group of patients with conditions ranging from simple to complex
• Document patient responses to nursing interventions and treatments, noting all changes in physician orders
• Assist physicians with examinations and minor diagnostic procedures
• Administer medications and manage IV infusions and blood products as prescribed
• Communicate care plans and hospital procedures with patients and families, including at discharge
• Delegate tasks to support staff as needed
• Must reside outside a 50-mile radius of the facility to be eligible for consideration
• Credentialing and compliance deadlines are strictly enforced with no allowance for start date pushes
• Returning travelers may only extend once for a maximum of 26 weeks before requiring a 6-month separation prior to reapplying
• 30-day written notice required for early cancellation or end of assignment
