Description

American Traveler is hiring a Med Surg/Telemetry RN for a Days assignment requiring recent charge or preceptor experience and prior travel contract history.

Details

• Med/Surg unit caring for a wide variety of medical-surgical patient types
• 15-bed unit with patient ratios of 4-5:1
• Remote telemetry monitoring supported by tele techs
• Heparin drip management required
• Days shift, 3x12-hour shifts, 36 hours/week firm
• Every third weekend required
• No on-call requirements
• Required to float across all campuses including Iowa Methodist MC, Iowa Lutheran Hospital, and Methodist West Hospital within contracted skillset/unit
• Uses Epic EMR

Requirements

• Active IA state or compact/multistate RN license required
• Current BLS certification (AHA or ARC) required
• Minimum 24 months of Med Surg/Med Surg Tele experience required
• Proficiency caring for all patient types within a med surg population required
• Epic EMR experience required
• Heparin drip experience required
• Telemetry/cardiac background highly preferred
• Recent charge or preceptor experience required
• Must have completed at least one travel contract within the previous 18 months
• Supervisory performance evaluation/reference from within 24 months preferred
• Driver's license required for consideration

• Provide medical-surgical and telemetry nursing care across a variety of patient conditions
• Join a growing unit focused on adaptability, teamwork, and positive collaboration
• Navy blue solid-color scrubs required
• Holiday rotation required, working 1-2 of 3 upcoming holidays unless the unit is closed
• Must reside at least 50 miles from the facility to be eligible
• Local candidates not accepted
• First-time travelers will not be considered for this role
• Prior UnityPoint Health employees (FTE or PRN float pool) are ineligible for travel assignments in other UPH markets within 12 months of separation
