Description

American Traveler is hiring a Med/Surg Tele RN for a night shift position requiring 24 months of recent med surg/tele experience and at least one prior travel contract.

Details

• Work on a Med/Surg unit caring for all types of med surg patients
• Patient ratios of 4-5:1 with a 15-bed unit
• Utilizes heparin drips and remote tele tech monitoring
• Nights, 4x12 hour shifts, 48 hrs/week (36 hrs/week can be accommodated)
• Weekend rotation every other or every third weekend depending on staffing/census
• No on-call requirements
• Required to float to other campuses and like units, including Iowa Methodist Medical Center and Iowa Methodist
• Required to participate in holiday rotation

Requirements

• Active IA RN license or compact/multistate license required
• Current BLS certification (AHA or ARC) required
• Minimum 24 months of recent Med Surg/Med Surg Tele experience required
• Must have completed at least one prior travel contract within the last 18 months
• Proficiency caring for all med surg patient types required
• EPIC EMR experience required
• Experience with heparin required
• Telemetry/cardiac background highly preferred
• Recent charge or precept experience required
• Skills checklist specific to Med Surg/Med Surg Tele required for consideration
• Supervisory performance evaluation or professional reference from within 24 months required
• Driver's license required for consideration

• Provide direct medical-surgical and telemetry nursing care across a variety of patient conditions

• Navy blue, solid-colored scrubs required
• Holiday coverage required for 1-2 of 3 upcoming holidays unless the unit is closed
• Limited time-off requests permitted during peak holiday periods
• Must reside at least 50 miles from the facility to be eligible
• Local candidates are not accepted for this position
• Previous UnityPoint Health employees (FTE or PRN float pool) are ineligible to work travel assignments at any UPH facility if employed within the past 12 months
• First-time travelers will not be considered for this role
