Description

American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for a Med/Surg Tele position requiring 2 years of travel experience and night shift availability.

Details

  • Work in the Med/Surg Tele unit of a short-term acute care hospital
  • 1:4 patient ratio
  • Night shift schedule, 3x12 hours (7:00 PM - 7:00 AM)
  • Required to work every other weekend
  • No on-call responsibilities
  • Floating between units and sister facilities required based on skill set
  • Uses Epic charting system

Requirements

  • Active RN license (Standard or Compact) currently in hand
  • Current BLS certification required
  • Minimum 2 years of RN experience required
  • Prior travel nursing experience required
  • Epic EMR experience required
  • Skills required include IV therapy/phlebotomy, central and peripheral line care, PICC line management, blood product administration, feeding tube care, continuous bladder irrigation, cardiac drip management, respiratory support (HFNC, nasal cannula, tracheostomy care), telemetry monitoring, dysrhythmia interpretation, wound care/wound vac, and IV insulin protocols
  • Must have a vehicle for this assignment
  • Must provide 2 supervisory references covering 1 year of employment within the last 3 years

Additional Information

  • Provide direct patient care to Med/Surg Tele patients including cardiac monitoring, rapid response coordination, and isolation precautions
  • Floating to sister facilities may be required, with additional incentive pay and mileage reimbursement for floating to certain locations
  • Hotel accommodations offered when floating requires consecutive overnight stays away from home facility
  • Must commit to working 3 of the 5 major holidays (Thanksgiving, Christmas Eve, Christmas Day, New Year's Eve, New Year's Day)
  • Local candidates accepted at a lower bill rate
  • Candidates must reside outside a 50-mile radius to qualify for standard travel rate
  • Former Providence permanent employees may return as travelers after a 3-month waiting period, provided they are not within 50 miles of the facility
  • First-time travelers will not be considered for this position
  • Scrub color requirements vary by department, with any color accepted in most units
  • No parking fee at this facility
  • RTO requests must be submitted upfront during the application process, as post-offer time off requests may not be accommodated
