Description

American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for a Med/Surg Tele position requiring 2 years of RN experience and prior travel assignment experience.

Details

• Work in the Med/Surg Telemetry unit of a short-term acute care hospital
• Night shift schedule, 3x12-hour shifts from 19:00 to 07:00
• Patient ratio of 1:4
• Every other weekend required
• No on-call responsibilities
• Floating between units and sister facilities based on skill set is expected
• Uses Epic charting system

Requirements

• Active RN license (Compact must be in hand at time of submission)
• OR RN license required
• Current BLS certification required
• Minimum 2 years of RN experience required
• Prior travel nursing experience required
• Epic EMR experience required
• Experience with IV therapy, central/PICC/peripheral line care, and blood product administration
• Experience managing cardiac and vasoactive drips (no titration)
• Experience with respiratory care including HFNC, nasal cannula, and tracheostomy care/management
• Experience with telemetry monitoring and cardiac dysrhythmia interpretation
• Experience with wound care/wound vac and IV insulin protocols
• Must have a vehicle for this assignment
• Two supervisory references covering 1 year of employment within the last 3 years required

Additional Information

• Provide direct patient care on a Med/Surg Telemetry unit including line management, medication administration, and cardiac monitoring
• Perform early mobilization and CHG bathing as part of daily patient care duties
• Must commit to working 3 of the 5 major holidays (Thanksgiving, Christmas Eve, Christmas Day, New Year's Eve, New Year's Day)
• All RTO and scheduling requests must be submitted upfront; minimal RTO preferred to expedite the process
• Local candidates accepted at a lower bill rate
• Candidates must reside outside a 50-mile radius of the facility to qualify for travel rate
• Former permanent staff may return as travelers after a 3-month waiting period, provided they reside more than 50 miles from the facility
• Any color scrubs accepted for this unit
• No parking fee at this facility
• First-time travelers will be screened prior to consideration
