Description

American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for a Med/Surg Telemetry position requiring at least 2 years of experience and prior travel nursing experience.

Details

  • Work in a Med/Surg Telemetry unit within a short-term acute care hospital setting
  • Patient ratio of 1:4
  • Night shift schedule, 3x12-hour shifts from 19:00 to 7:00
  • Every other weekend required
  • No on-call responsibilities
  • Floating between units and sister facilities within the health system is expected based on skill set
  • Uses Epic charting system

Requirements

  • Active RN license (Compact license must be in hand)
  • OR RN license required
  • Current BLS certification required
  • Minimum 2 years of RN experience required
  • Prior travel nursing experience required
  • Epic EMR experience required
  • Experience with IV therapy, central/peripheral line care, and PICC line management
  • Experience with blood product administration and phlebotomy
  • Experience managing cardiac and vasoactive drips (no titration)
  • Experience with respiratory care including high flow nasal cannula, tracheostomy care, and oxygen administration
  • Telemetry monitoring and dysrhythmia interpretation experience
  • Experience with wound care/wound vac and isolation precautions
  • Experience with IV insulin protocols
  • Must have a personal vehicle for this assignment
  • Two supervisory references covering 1 year of employment within the last 3 years required

Additional Information

  • Provide direct patient care on a Med/Surg Telemetry unit including cardiac monitoring and emergency response support
  • Utilize Rapid Response/Code teams as needed
  • Perform early mobilization and CHG bathing protocols
  • Care for patients with surgical drains and plastics-related needs
  • Scrubs may be any color for this unit
  • No parking fees at this facility
  • Must commit to working 3 of the 5 major holidays (Thanksgiving, Christmas Eve, Christmas Day, New Year's Eve, New Year's Day)
  • Candidates must reside within, or be willing to work at, a 50-mile radius rule for local candidate consideration
  • Former permanent staff may return as travelers after a 3-month waiting period, provided they reside outside the 50-mile radius
  • First-time travelers will be screened but travel experience is required for this role
  • Minimal RTO requests are accepted and must be submitted upfront
