Description

American Traveler is hiring a Med/Surg Tele RN for a 22-bed unit caring for complex telemetry and med-surg patients, with KY or compact RN license required.

Details

• 22-bed telemetry/med-surg unit caring for complex patients including CHF, stroke, ESRD, and post-op cases
• Patients admitted from ICU, ED, and PACU
• Day shift schedule, 12-hour shifts, 3 days per week
• 0.9 FTE, 36 hours per week

Requirements

• Active, unrestricted KY or compact RN license required
• BLS certification required
• ACLS, NIHSS, and Annual Dysrhythmia Competency Validation required within 6 months of hire
• ADN or ASN required, BSN preferred
• No prior nursing experience required, though previous experience preferred
• Ability to assess age-specific patient safety issues and implement appropriate safety devices

Additional Information

• Provides direct patient care including assessments, treatments, and care coordination across admission, transfer, and discharge activities
• Delegates and oversees care tasks performed by other team members
• Participates in unit-based quality improvement activities such as monitoring falls, pressure ulcers, and CAUTIs
• Facilitates patient and family education and discharge planning in coordination with case management
• Collaborates closely with an interprofessional care team to support patient-centered outcomes
