Description

American Traveler is hiring an RN for a Med/Surg Telemetry position requiring BLS, ACLS, and documented trauma/geriatric experience at a high-acuity Level 1 trauma center.

Details

• 38-bed Med/Surg Telemetry unit with a 1:5 patient ratio
• Adult patient population, primarily geriatric (ages 65+)
• Common diagnoses include trauma, falls, fractures, and motor vehicle collisions
• Administers Heparin drips and other acute medications as ordered
• Uses specialty equipment including gait belts, geriatric chairs, and PT equipment
• Day shift schedule, 12-hour shifts, 3 shifts per week
• Travelers expected to work 4 weekend shifts per month
• Uses Epic EMR
• No on-call requirements

Requirements

• Active GA or compact RN license required
• BLS and ACLS certifications required
• Documented Med/Surg Telemetry experience and skills checklist required
• Experience in geriatrics, trauma, and ortho trauma required
• Familiarity with hospital-acquired delirium prevention, early mobility, HAPI prevention, and falls prevention required
• Experience in high-acuity, high-volume trauma environments required
• Comfort with family communication and involvement in patient care

Additional Information

• Provide care within a high-acuity, inner-city Level 1 trauma center handling complex and challenging cases
• Candidates with experience limited to small or low-volume hospitals will not be considered
• Local candidates accepted at the same rate as travel candidates
• Block scheduling is generally not approved for this unit
• No RTO permitted during the contract
• Candidates must provide a badge-appropriate photo and complete demographic information for consideration
