• Schedule Requirements: Every other weekend required; floating may be needed based on unit needs

Job Requirements

• Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in North Carolina or a compact state; pending license considered for submission
• Minimum 2 years of recent telemetry, cardiac step-down, or other high-acuity cardiac nursing experience
• Comfortable caring for 5-6 patients per shift in a fast-paced telemetry unit
• Required certifications: ACLS, BLS, and NIHSS
• Experience with cardiac telemetry monitoring, IV starts, cardiac drips, and pre/post cardiac procedures
• Epic charting experience preferred
• Willingness to float within or near the facility as needed
• Availability for every other weekend and required holiday coverage
• Ability to work in a collaborative, high-turnover clinical environment

Responsibilities

• Provide safe, compassionate care for adult patients with cardiac and stroke-related conditions
• Monitor telemetry rhythms, interpret dysrhythmias, and respond appropriately to changes in patient status
• Manage pre- and post-procedure cardiac patients, including pacemakers, cardiac catheterizations, and other interventional care
• Administer and titrate cardiac drips according to unit protocols and clinical guidelines
• Perform IV starts, manage lines and monitoring equipment, and maintain accurate nursing documentation
• Collaborate with physicians, rapid response teams, respiratory therapy, pharmacy, and other clinical support staff
• Support efficient patient throughput in a dynamic telemetry unit with changing census and acuity
• Contribute to a positive team culture while delivering excellent bedside nursing care
