• Contract Length: 20 weeks
• Patient Ratio: 1:5-6
• Weekend Requirement: Every other weekend, plus 2 Mondays and 2 Fridays in a 6-week period
• Orientation: 36 hours
• Charting System: Epic
• Scheduling: Self-scheduling with leadership oversight

Job Requirements

• Minimum of 2 years of recent nursing experience required
• Telemetry nursing experience required; strong cardiac telemetry background preferred
• Experience with IV starts and telemetry monitoring
• Ability to care for pre- and post-procedure cardiac patients
• Experience with cardiac drips and PCI patients
• Current ACLS, BLS, and NIHSS certifications required
• Comfortable working in a fast-paced, high-turnover telemetry unit
• Open to floating within or near the facility as needed
• Must be comfortable managing a patient load of up to 6 patients
• North Carolina or compact RN license acceptable; pending license considered for submission
• Must pass EKG testing prior to start

Responsibilities

• Provide skilled nursing care for adult cardiac and stroke patients in a telemetry setting
• Monitor and interpret cardiac rhythms and respond promptly to changes in patient condition
• Administer and titrate cardiac drips as ordered and within scope of practice
• Care for patients undergoing pacemaker, defibrillator, and cardiac catheterization procedures
• Support stable post-procedure recovery and manage TR bands and related interventions
• Care for patients with CHF, dysrhythmias, unstable angina, chest pain evaluations, TIA, and CVA diagnoses
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to ensure safe, efficient patient care
• Use strong clinical judgment in a busy environment with frequent admissions, discharges, and patient turnover
• Maintain accurate documentation in Epic and communicate effectively with the care team
• Deliver compassionate care while maintaining professionalism and adaptability on every shift
