• Setting: Adult cardiac telemetry / stroke-focused unit
• Weekly Estimated Pay: $1,770 - $1,860
• Contract Duration: 20 weeks
• Start Date: October 12, 2026
• Shift: 12-hour nights, 6:45 PM - 7:15 AM
• Shifts Per Week: 3
• Orientation: 36 hours
• Weekend Requirement: Every other weekend, plus two Mondays and two Fridays in a 6-week period
• Float Requirement: Floating within or near the facility may be required
• Scheduling Style: Self-scheduling with leadership oversight

Job Requirements

• Minimum of 2 years of recent RN experience in cardiac telemetry, progressive care, step-down, or another high-acuity nursing setting
• Current North Carolina RN license or compact state license; pending license may be considered for submittal
• Current ACLS, BLS, and NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS) certifications
• Strong telemetry monitoring skills, including rhythm interpretation and IV starts
• Comfort managing cardiac drips, dysrhythmias, and pre- and post-procedure cardiac patients
• Epic charting experience preferred
• Ability to work in a fast-paced hospital environment with changing patient acuity and ratios
• Availability for unit orientation and required pre-start compliance steps
• Willingness to work nights, weekends, and occasional call as needed

Responsibilities

• Provide high-quality bedside nursing care to adult cardiac and stroke patients
• Monitor telemetry, assess rhythm changes, and respond appropriately to changes in patient condition
• Care for patients recovering from pacemaker placement, ICD procedures, cardiac catheterization, and vascular interventions
• Manage cardiac medications and drips according to unit protocols and physician orders
• Support patients with dysrhythmias, CHF, unstable angina, chest pain evaluation, and CVA/TIA care
• Use clinical judgment to prioritize care in a high-turnover, high-energy telemetry unit
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary healthcare team members to promote safe, efficient patient care
• Maintain accurate documentation and communicate effectively using established clinical workflows
