Travel Registered Nurse Job Details

- Shift: 12-hour nights, 6:45 PM–7:15 AM
- Patient Ratios: Approximately 1:5–6
- Weekend Requirement: Every other weekend, plus two Mondays and two Fridays during a six-week period
- Scheduling: Self-scheduling with leadership oversight; block scheduling is not available
- Additional Expectations: Floating within or near the assigned facility may be required; call participation may be required based on census

Cardiac Telemetry RN Job Requirements
- Current Registered Nurse license in North Carolina or a compact state; pending licensure may be considered for submission
- At least 2 years of recent Registered Nurse experience in cardiac telemetry, stepdown, progressive care, or a comparable acute-care setting
- Strong cardiac telemetry and dysrhythmia interpretation skills
- Experience with IV starts, cardiac drips, pre- and post-cardiac procedure care, and PCI patients
- ACLS, BLS, and NIHSS certifications
- Ability to care for a patient assignment of up to six patients in a busy, high-turnover unit
- Successful completion of specialty EKG testing before the start date
- Willingness to care for patients requiring isolation precautions and stable oxygen therapies, including high-flow oxygen or chronic non-invasive airway support
Cardiac Telemetry Registered Nurse Responsibilities
- Provide comprehensive nursing care to adult cardiac, telemetry, stroke, and vascular patients.
- Monitor and interpret cardiac rhythms, recognize clinical changes, and initiate appropriate interventions.
- Manage patients before and after cardiac catheterization, pacemaker or defibrillator implantation, cardiac procedures, and uncomplicated peripheral vascular interventions.
- Care for patients with unstable angina, low-risk chest pain, CHF, dysrhythmias, CVA, and TIA.
- Administer and monitor cardiac and vasoactive medications, including Cardizem, dopamine, and amiodarone, according to unit protocols.
- Manage TR bands, central and peripheral lines, arterial lines, blood products, insulin protocols, and oxygen therapy as indicated.
- Use Epic, Pyxis, and SBAR communication practices to support accurate documentation and safe handoffs.
- Collaborate with physicians, respiratory services, pharmacy, rapid response teams, therapy, social services, and other members of the interdisciplinary care team.
- Participate in admissions, discharges, patient education, code and rapid response activities, and safe transitions of care.
