Job Opportunity – Registered Nurse, Medical-Surgical/Telemetry – Tyler, TX 75701

Start Date: November 3, 2026

Location: Tyler, Texas

Schedule: Day shift, 3x12-hour shifts (07:00 - 19:00), 36 hours per week. Weekend coverage required (approximately half of contract shifts). Patient ratio 1:6. Float required to units of equal or lesser acuity.

Highlights:

• Specialized medical-surgical unit with telemetry capabilities focusing on renal and urological diagnoses
• Manage patients post-prostate surgery, renal stones, and bladder/kidney surgeries
• Work with diverse patient population ranging from young adults through geriatrics
• Comprehensive interdisciplinary support including physical therapy, respiratory services, pharmacy, and rapid response teams
• 16-bed unit with daily census of approximately 16 patients
• 91-day travel assignment with 16 hours of orientation

Requirements:

• Active Texas or Compact RN license (must be in hand at time of application)
• Minimum 2 years of nursing experience required
• Travel nursing experience preferred
• BLS and NIHSS certifications required
• Epic charting system experience required
• Experience with 1:6 patient ratios
• Proficiency in accessing/managing ports, interpretation and management of dysrhythmias, telemetry monitoring, starting and maintaining IVs, and non-invasive airway management
• Skills in 3-way catheter irrigations, bladder scans, incontinence procedures, wound care, and pre/post hemodialysis management preferred
• Must complete core compliance items and labs within 48 hours of contract signing
• Cannot reside in the following Texas counties: Henderson, Anderson, Cherokee, Rusk, Panola, Smith, Gregg, Van Zandt, Wood, Upshur, Camp, Hopkins, Franklin, Titus, or Morris
