Job Opportunity – Registered Nurse, Medical-Surgical/Telemetry – Tyler, TX 75701
Start Date: November 3, 2026
Location: Tyler, Texas
Schedule: Day shift, 3x12-hour shifts (07:00 - 19:00), 36 hours per week. Weekend coverage required for approximately half of the contract duration. Patient ratio 1:6. Float required as needed.
Highlights:
- Medical-surgical unit with telemetry capabilities specializing in vascular disease diagnoses
- 16-bed unit featuring 12 private rooms and 2 semi-private rooms with adult patient population
- Epic charting system with comprehensive interdisciplinary support including physical therapy, respiratory services, pharmacy, and rapid response teams
- 13-week travel assignment with orientation provided
- Opportunity to work with diverse medical-surgical and telemetry overflow patient populations ranging from young adults to geriatrics
Requirements:
- Active RN license (state or compact license must be in hand at time of submission)
- Minimum 2 years of nursing experience required
- Previous travel nursing experience preferred
- Experience with 1:6 patient ratios required
- Epic charting system experience required
- Current BLS and NIHSS certifications required
- Proficiency in telemetry monitoring, dysrhythmia interpretation and management, IV starts and maintenance, central line blood draws, wound care, PCA pumps, and medication administration including heparin and insulin
- Experience with high flow nasal cannula, non-invasive airway management, feeding tube care, colostomy/ileostomy management, PICC line management, and pre/post hemodialysis management preferred
- Must complete core onboarding items and labs within 48 hours of contract signing
