Description

American Traveler is hiring a Med/Surg Tele RN for a night shift position on a geriatric behavioral health unit requiring an active MA RN license and successful completion of ECG/Tele and medication testing.

Details

• Work on an 8-bed Medical-Surgical Telemetry unit (ACE) focused on geriatric patients with behavioral disturbances complicated by medical issues, including dementia, confusion, and impulsivity
• Patient ratio is 4:1, with 1-2 CNAs supporting the unit on day shift
• 12-hour night shift schedule, 36 hours per week
• Shift hours are 7:00 PM to 7:30 AM
• Weekend and holiday shifts are expected
• No floating or charge nurse responsibilities required

Requirements

• Active MA RN license required in hand prior to start
• Must pass a Dysrhythmia/ECG-Tele test and a Medication test during onboarding, administered via Zoom within 48 hours of offer, with an 85% passing score and no opportunity for retake
• Prior Med/Surg Telemetry nursing experience required
• Experience with geriatric and behavioral health patient populations preferred

Additional Information

• Provide direct nursing care to elderly patients with complex medical and behavioral health needs
• Orientation occurs biweekly
• Interviews are conducted by the hiring manager, so candidates should provide availability at time of consideration
• All RTO requests must be submitted for consideration prior to interview
• Candidates must reside more than 50 miles from the facility to be eligible, as local candidates are not accepted for this role
• Previous employees (travel, perm, or per diem) must have a six-month break from any Beth Israel Lahey Health facility before returning
• Required vaccinations include COVID-19 (plus booster) and Flu, with medical exemptions allowed
• First-time travelers may be considered for this position
