Travel Nursing Job Details

- Weekly Estimated Pay: $2,250-$2,370
- Schedule: 3 shifts per week; 36 hours per week
- Shift Duration: 12-hour rotating shifts
- Shift Times: Nights, 7:00 p.m.-7:30 a.m.; days, 7:00 a.m.-7:30 p.m.
- Scheduling: Day/night rotation may be required based on operational needs
- Floating: May float to designated units and the emergency department to care for patients with a similar population
- Holiday Coverage: Travelers are expected to work at least every other holiday
Registered Nurse Job Requirements
- Registered Nurse (RN) with at least 1 year of recent permanent experience in medical-surgical telemetry nursing
- Active Ohio RN license or compact RN license in hand at the time of submission
- Active BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS certifications from an accepted provider
- Recent hematology/oncology nursing experience preferred; chemotherapy administration experience is preferred but not required
- Strong cardiac rhythm recognition and medication safety skills
- Successful completion of ECG rhythm recognition and medication safety assessments during orientation
- Ability to provide a recent professional reference from a manager, assistant nurse manager, supervisor, or director in the specialty
- Ability to meet required clinical, compliance, background screening, and orientation standards before beginning the assignment
Medical-Surgical Telemetry RN Responsibilities
- Provide comprehensive nursing care to adult medical-surgical telemetry patients, including individuals with hematologic and oncologic diagnoses
- Monitor cardiac rhythms, recognize changes in patient condition, and promptly communicate concerns to the appropriate clinical team
- Administer medications and treatments safely while following established clinical protocols
- Assess patients, develop and update individualized plans of care, and evaluate outcomes
- Collaborate with physicians, advanced practice providers, therapists, pharmacy staff, and other members of the interdisciplinary healthcare team
- Educate patients and families regarding diagnoses, treatments, medications, and discharge needs
- Safely care for patients requiring complex medical-surgical and telemetry interventions
- Float to other areas, when needed, to care for patients with comparable clinical needs
- Complete required orientation activities, competency assessments, and annual education as applicable
