Travel Registered Nurse Job Requirements

• At least 1 year of combined permanent experience in medical-surgical telemetry nursing
• Active, permanent Ohio Registered Nurse (RN) license or compact RN license in hand
• Active BLS and ACLS certifications from the American Heart Association
• Active NIHSS certification
• Recent professional reference from a manager, assistant nurse manager, supervisor, or director in the medical-surgical telemetry specialty
• Ability to complete required pre-employment screening and time-sensitive background requirements
• Ability to successfully complete ECG rhythm recognition and medication-safety assessments during orientation

Medical-Surgical Telemetry RN Responsibilities

• Provide safe, compassionate nursing care to adult medical-surgical telemetry patients during overnight shifts
• Assess patients, develop and implement individualized nursing care plans, and evaluate outcomes
• Continuously monitor cardiac rhythms and promptly recognize and escalate changes in patient condition
• Administer medications and treatments in accordance with orders, policies, and professional nursing standards
• Collaborate with providers and interdisciplinary team members to coordinate timely patient care
• Educate patients and families regarding diagnoses, treatments, medications, and discharge planning
• Maintain accurate, timely clinical documentation and support a safe, organized patient-care environment
