Registered Nurse Job Requirements

• At least 1 year of recent permanent Medical-Surgical Telemetry nursing experience
• Active Registered Nurse license in Ohio or an active compact-state RN license in hand at the time of submission
• Active Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certifications from the American Heart Association
• Active National Institutes of Health Stroke Scale (NIHSS) certification
• Recent telemetry nursing experience and ECG rhythm recognition skills
• One professional reference from a manager, assistant nurse manager, supervisor, or director in the specialty within the past 12 months
• Willingness to complete required background screening, health screening, orientation, and competency assessments
• Ability to complete required credentials and certifications before the travel nursing assignment begins

Medical-Surgical Telemetry RN Responsibilities

• Provide comprehensive nursing care to adult medical-surgical and telemetry patients during overnight shifts
• Monitor cardiac rhythms, recognize changes in patient condition, and promptly communicate clinical concerns
• Administer medications and treatments safely in accordance with provider orders and nursing standards
• Perform focused and head-to-toe assessments, develop individualized care plans, and evaluate patient outcomes
• Collaborate with providers, nursing colleagues, and the interdisciplinary care team to support positive patient outcomes
• Educate patients and families regarding diagnoses, treatments, medications, and discharge instructions
• Accurately document assessments, interventions, and patient responses in the electronic medical record
• Promote patient safety, infection prevention, fall reduction, and quality-care initiatives
