Assignment Overview

Seeking an experienced RN for the MedSurg/Tele unit. The ideal candidate will have 2 years of Med/Tele RN experience and the ability to work in a busy, team-oriented environment. You will provide care for patients with acute or chronic diseases and various post-op conditions common to the med-surg population.

Assignment Details

  • Estimated gross weekly pay package: $2250 (negotiable)
  • Patient types: Acute or chronic diseases, post-op surgeries, diabetes, hypertension, infections, CHF, and electrolyte imbalances
  • Patient ratios: RN: 1:4-6, LPN: 1:4-6, CNA: 2-3 per shift
  • Technology/Equipment: EMR - EPIC, IV Pump - Alaris, Med Dispensing - Pyxis, Monitors - Phillips
  • Floating: All adult med surg/telemetry units in house
  • Orientation: 1 day facility, 2 days departmental

Responsibilities

  • Provide clinical assessment and med-surg nursing care
  • Manage cardiac monitoring and telemetry interpretation
  • Perform IV insertion and care, central line management
  • Coordinate care with interdisciplinary teams
  • Conduct discharge planning and patient education
  • Manage trach care, chest tube management, and glucommander

Qualifications

Required:

  • BLS certification
  • BCR certification (EKG competency required)
  • Skills in trach care, chest tube management, and PIV starts
  • Strong clinical assessment skills for Level 1 Trauma Hospital

Preferred:

  • ACLS certification
  • Medical-Surgical national certification

PEL/VIP Job ID #65212635. Pay package is based on 8 hour shifts and 40.0 hours per week (subject to confirmation) with tax-free stipend amount to be determined.
