Assignment Overview

This travel assignment is for a Registered Nurse specializing in MedSurg/Telemetry. The role is in a Level 1 Trauma hospital that caters to orthopedic and trauma patients, as well as individuals with acute or chronic diseases. The ideal candidate should have strong clinical assessment and med-surg nursing skills with a background in providing care in a similar high-acuity setting.

  • Shift Details: 12-hour shifts, 7A-7P or 7P-7A
  • Assignment Length: Not provided
  • Estimated gross weekly pay package: $2250 (negotiable)
  • Patient Ratios: RN: 1:4-6, LPN: 1:4-6
  • Charting System: EPIC
  • Technology/Equipment: Alaris IV Pumps, Pyxis Med Dispensing, Phillips Monitors
  • Floating: All adult MedSurg/Telemetry units in house
  • Orientation: 1 day of facility orientation followed by 2 days departmental
  • Schedule: Rotating weekends with no on-call duties, holiday work required

Responsibilities

  • Provide comprehensive nursing care to patients in a Level 1 Trauma hospital
  • Manage trach care, chest tube, and post-op wound monitoring
  • Conduct IV insertion and central line management
  • Interpret cardiac monitoring and telemetry
  • Coordinate with interdisciplinary teams for patient care
  • Plan discharges and educate patients, especially in renal and fluid management

Qualifications

Required:

  • 2 years of Med/Tele RN experience
  • BLS Certification
  • Pass an EKG competency exam
  • Proficiency in trach care, chest tube management, and PIV procedures
  • Strong med-surg nursing skills

Preferred:

  • ACLS Certification
  • Medical-surgical or Nephrology nursing certification
