Med/Surg Telemetry RN Job Requirements

• At least 1 year of recent, combined permanent experience in Medical-Surgical Telemetry nursing
• Active permanent Ohio Registered Nurse license or active compact-state RN license in hand at the time of application
• Active BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS certifications in hand; pending certifications are not accepted
• Successful completion of required onboarding, including ECG rhythm recognition and medication safety assessments
• One recent professional reference from a manager, assistant nurse manager, supervisor, or director in the specialty, completed within the past 12 months
• Ability to complete required background screening, health screening, and onboarding documentation
• Willingness to complete pre-start and applicable annual learning modules

Medical-Surgical Telemetry RN Responsibilities

• Provide safe, compassionate nursing care to adult medical-surgical and telemetry patients
• Monitor cardiac rhythms and recognize changes in patient condition
• Complete focused and comprehensive nursing assessments, develop individualized care plans, and evaluate patient outcomes
• Administer medications and treatments safely in accordance with established protocols
• Collaborate with physicians and members of the interdisciplinary care team
• Educate patients and families regarding diagnoses, treatments, medications, and discharge planning
• Accurately document assessments, interventions, and patient responses in the electronic health record
• Promote a safe, organized, and patient-centered hospital unit environment
