Medical-Surgical Telemetry RN Requirements

• At least 1 year of recent permanent Medical-Surgical Telemetry Registered Nurse experience
• Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in Ohio or an active compact-state license in hand at the time of application
• Current, active BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS certifications
• One professional reference from a manager, assistant nurse manager, supervisor, or director in the specialty within the past 12 months
• Ability to successfully complete required background, compliance, and travel nurse credentialing processes
• Willingness to complete ECG rhythm recognition and medication safety assessments during orientation
• COVID-19 and influenza vaccination required, with medical or religious exemptions considered

Medical-Surgical Telemetry Nurse Responsibilities

• Provide safe, compassionate nursing care to adult Medical-Surgical Telemetry patients in an acute care hospital
• Perform comprehensive nursing assessments and monitor patients for changes in cardiac and clinical status
• Interpret telemetry rhythms and promptly communicate significant findings to the appropriate care team members
• Administer medications and treatments safely while following established clinical standards and patient safety protocols
• Collaborate with providers and the interdisciplinary healthcare team to coordinate individualized treatment plans
• Document assessments, interventions, patient responses, and care plans accurately in the electronic medical record
• Educate patients and families regarding diagnoses, treatments, medications, and discharge planning
• Prioritize care effectively in a dynamic night-shift environment and respond promptly to changes in patient condition
