Description

American Traveler is hiring a Med/Surg RN with Nephrology experience for a 13-week days assignment requiring a compact or OK RN license and at least one year of experience.

Details

• Medicine/Nephrology unit within a hospital setting
• Days shift, 12-hour shifts, 3 days per week (36 hours per week)
• Care for a diverse patient population with health issues ranging from simple to complex
• Central line care and management, foley care and management, and end-of-life care required
• Proper dialysis site care required, including avoiding improper use of HD catheters or fistula access for blood draws
• Med/Surg and Stepdown experience required
• Charge experience considered a strong plus

Requirements

• Active RN license (Oklahoma or Compact/eNLC) required
• Current BLS certification from the American Heart Association required
• Minimum of 1 year of RN experience required
• Associate's Degree in Nursing from an accredited program required
• Bachelor of Science in Nursing preferred
• Knowledge of professional nursing theory, practices, techniques, and procedures required
• Strong verbal and written communication skills required
• Basic computer skills required

Additional Information

• Assume responsibility for an assigned group of patients and deliver competent nursing care
• Document patient responses to nursing interventions and treatments, and note changes in physician orders
• Assist physicians with examinations and minor diagnostic procedures
• Administer prescribed medications and initiate, regulate, and monitor IV infusions and blood products
• Communicate care plans with patients and families throughout hospitalization and at discharge
• Delegate tasks to support staff as appropriate
• Must reside outside a 50-mile radius of the facility to be eligible (no local candidates)
• Facility enforces strict compliance deadlines; candidates must be booked at least 4 weeks prior to start and cleared on time
• Returning workers may only extend once for a total of 26 weeks, followed by a required 6-month separation before reapplying
