Description

American Traveler is hiring a Med/Surg RN for a Nephrology unit position requiring dialysis site care experience and a compact or Oklahoma RN license.

Details

  • Work in the Medicine/Nephrology unit of a hospital setting
  • Night shift schedule, 12-hour shifts, 3 days per week, 36 hours per week
  • Care for patients requiring central line management, foley catheter care, and end-of-life care
  • Provide proper dialysis site care, avoiding improper access of HD catheters or fistulas for blood draws

Requirements

  • Active RN license issued by the Oklahoma State Board of Nursing or current multistate compact RN license (eNLC)
  • Current BLS certification from the American Heart Association (AHA)
  • Minimum of 1 year of nursing experience required
  • Med/Surg and Stepdown experience required
  • Charge nurse experience strongly preferred
  • Associate's Degree in Nursing from an accredited program required, BSN preferred
  • Strong knowledge of nursing theory, practices, techniques, and procedures
  • Good verbal and written communication skills

Additional Information

  • Provide direct nursing care to an assigned group of patients with conditions ranging from simple to complex
  • Assist physicians with examinations and minor diagnostic procedures
  • Administer medications and manage IV infusions and blood products
  • Educate patients and families on care plans and hospital procedures, including discharge planning
  • Delegate tasks appropriately to support staff
  • Must reside outside a 50-mile radius of the facility to be eligible for consideration
  • Facility enforces strict compliance deadlines; onboarding requirements must begin immediately upon offer
  • Returning workers may only extend once for a maximum of 26 weeks before requiring a 6-month separation before reapplying
