Job Details

• Position: Travel Med/Surg Registered Nurse (RN)
• Location: Fort Wayne, Indiana
• Employment Type: Travel Nursing Assignment
• Setting: Acute care medical-surgical unit
• Shift: 12-hour nights, 7:00 PM - 7:00 AM
• Hours: 36 hours per week
• Schedule: 3 weekend shifts in 4 weeks
• Contract Length: 13 weeks
• Estimated Weekly Pay: $2,020 - $2,130
• Charting System: Epic
• Orientation: Jump Start orientation with hospital and nursing onboarding, including Epic training

Job Requirements

• Active Indiana RN license or compact RN license
• BLS certification through AHA
• At least 1.5 years of Level 1, Level 2, or tertiary care experience
• At least 1 year of experience in a like-sized facility with 450+ beds
• Strong comfort level with medical-surgical patient care and floating to other medical units as needed
• Experience with Epic charting and common acute care equipment preferred

Responsibilities

• Provide comprehensive medical-surgical nursing care to a diverse patient population
• Perform patient assessments, care planning, and ongoing clinical monitoring
• Administer and manage IV therapy, heparin drips, insulin drips, and other ordered treatments
• Use clinical equipment such as IV pumps, feeding pumps, wound vacs, telemetry monitoring, and blood glucose devices
• Support patients with respiratory, GI, infectious disease, neurological, and post-procedure needs
• Collaborate closely with interdisciplinary team members to ensure safe, timely, and effective care
• Float to other medical units based on patient care needs
