• Weekly Estimated Pay: $2,020 - $2,130
• Charting System: EPIC
• Orientation: Jump Start orientation, including general hospital orientation, nursing orientation, and Epic training
• Floating: May float to other medical units as needed
• Dress Code: Caribbean Blue scrubs

Job Requirements

• Active Indiana RN license or compact RN license
• Current BLS certification through AHA
• At least 1.5 years of Level I, Level II, or tertiary care experience
• At least 1 year of experience in a similarly sized hospital setting (450+ beds)
• Experience providing care on a general medical-surgical unit
• Ability to work 12-hour night shifts and rotate through weekend coverage as scheduled
• Strong assessment, communication, and teamwork skills
• Comfort with EPIC charting and common acute care equipment

Responsibilities

• Provide comprehensive medical-surgical nursing care to a diverse adult patient population
• Perform patient assessments, develop care plans, and communicate effectively with the interdisciplinary care team
• Care for patients with chronic and acute conditions such as COPD, diabetes, CHF, renal disease, infections, stroke, and more
• Support patients undergoing procedures such as colonoscopies, thoracentesis, paracentesis, bronchoscopy, and minor surgeries
• Manage IV therapy, feeding tubes, chest tubes, heparin and insulin drips, wound vacs, and other common Med/Surg interventions
• Use EHR tools and unit equipment including EPIC, Pyxis, Accucheck, IV pumps, SCDs, telemetry, and heating/cooling devices
• Float to other medical units when needed to support patient care across the department
• Deliver safe, compassionate, and efficient care in a fast-paced acute care environment
