Job Description

This position is for a Registered Nurse (RN) on a specialized unit with a focus on orthopedics and trauma. The unit features a collaborative environment with a dedicated team and advanced medical equipment.

Unit Specifics

• Number of Beds: 23
• Patient Ratios: 1:4 to 1:5
• Staffing: Includes Unit Secretary and Patient Care Technicians (PCTs).
• Type of Equipment: Traction, fixators, cooling equipment.
• Documentation System: Meditech.
• Scheduling Requirements: Full-time schedule includes three 12-hour shifts and three weekend shifts per schedule period.
• Floating Policy: Observes a floating policy for contract labor to other medical-surgical units as needed.
• Patient Experience: Standards include bedside shift report and hourly rounding.

Qualifications

• Current RN License.
• BLS Certification.
• Experience in orthopedic care, telemetry, and NIH stroke scale preferred.
• Familiarity with post-operative care for knee, hip, and shoulder replacements.
• Experience in managing trauma patients and some neuro overflow cases.

Uniform Requirements

Required uniform is navy scrubs.
